Great Walks
Introduction
New Zealand's Great Walks are premier tracks that pass through diverse and spectacular scenery.The tracks are well formed and easy to follow. While most people prefer to explore on their own, guided trips offer a bit more comfort. Great Walks are accessible from major towns that are well serviced by local operators and accommodation and transport providers.
Great Walks bookings
Bookings will open for stays from 1 July 2024 to 30 June 2025 on these dates at 9.30 am:
- 28 May: Milford Track, Lake Waikaremoana Track
- 30 May: Abel Tasman Coast Track, Rakiura Track, Whanganui Journey
- 5 June: Routeburn Track, Paparoa Track
- 6 June: Kepler Track, Heaphy Track, Tongariro Northern Circuit
Be prepared before bookings open for the 2024/25 season
This year we have combined our Great Walks and huts and campsites booking systems. You only need a single account to book the Great Walks and all other accommodation.
